What is MonetizeCheck?
MonetizeCheck is a free tool that lets you check whether any YouTube channel is monetized and estimates how much they earn per month. Just paste a channel URL and get results instantly — no account needed.
Is it free to use?
Yes — completely free. You can check any YouTube channel without creating an account. We plan to add premium features in the future but the core checker will always be free.
Do I need to log in or create an account?
No. You can use the monetization checker and the game without any account. Creating an account will let you save your game scores to the leaderboard and access future premium tools.
Monetization detection
How accurate is the monetization check?
We detect ad signals in YouTube's player response for the channel's latest video. This is very reliable for active channels but can occasionally return "Unknown" if the channel hasn't posted recently, if the latest video has ads disabled, or if YouTube changes their player structure. Treat results as a strong indicator, not a guarantee.
Why does it show "Unknown" for some channels?
This happens when we can't find a latest video to check, when YouTube rate limits our request, or when the channel has no recent public uploads. It does not necessarily mean the channel is not monetized — it just means we couldn't determine it from the available data.
Can I check any YouTube channel?
Yes — any public YouTube channel. We support @handle URLs, channel IDs, and /user/ or /c/ style URLs. Private or terminated channels cannot be checked.
Does MonetizeCheck have access to private channel data?
No. We only use the official YouTube Data API v3 to access publicly available information. We never ask for access to your YouTube account and cannot see any private data.
Earnings estimates
How are earnings calculated?
We estimate earnings using: the channel's niche (detected from name and description), the country (which affects CPM rates significantly), recent video view counts, and industry-average CPM data. Shorts channels use a separate, lower RPM since YouTube pays Shorts creators differently. The result is a low/mid/high monthly range.
Are the earnings estimates accurate?
They are informed estimates based on real industry CPM data — not guesses. However, actual earnings vary significantly based on audience demographics, ad engagement, sponsorships, and YouTube's own algorithm. Use our estimates as a ballpark range, not exact figures. We do not have access to any creator's actual AdSense data.
Why does the niche detection sometimes seem off?
We detect niche from the channel name and description using keyword matching. If a channel has a vague name or minimal description, we may default to a general CPM estimate. This is something we're continuously improving.
The game
How does the monetization guessing game work?
We show you a real YouTube channel's stats — subscribers, video count, country — and you guess whether it's monetized or not. You have 3 lives. Build streaks to earn bonus points. The tricky part: some channels have huge subscriber counts but are NOT monetized — that's where most people go wrong.
Where does the game data come from?
The game uses a curated dataset of 995 real YouTube channels with verified monetization status. Channels are weighted so you get a mix of obvious and tricky cases — including large channels that are NOT monetized, which are the hardest to spot.
